Lynn Chadwick, a renowned British artist, led an extraordinary life filled with artistic exploration and creative achievements. Born in Barnes, London, Chadwick’s passion for sculpture emerged early on, as he worked as a draughtsman for various designers and architects in the 1930s. With diverse artistic experiences and even winning a prize for textile design, Chadwick’s talent and dedication were evident. Despite the interruption of World War II, where he served as a pilot in the Fleet Air Arm, Chadwick’s artistic pursuits continued to flourish. The period from 1947 to 1952 marked a turning point in Chadwick’s career as he established himself as a sculptor, earning prestigious commissions and creating captivating works of art.
